hello, first i apoligise if i posted in the wrong section !uhm that aside, i want to boot DSL on my EPIA 5000 machine which has suse 10 atm with a 20gb 2.5" hdd inside it. I want to remove the disk inside this machine and it has no cd drive either. I want to be able to boot DSL from a 128mb flashdisk that i have (transcent or sommit) i will buy a new flash disk if needs be but since the distro is 50mb and this drive works fine booting i will probably use it. DSL is fine but my EPIA 5000 has a very cruddy screen and i dont want to ruin all my system ressources by starting X and running some graphical player. I have gotten used to mp3blaster using ncurses under suse 10 and i boot in init 3 allready using lynx to go on the web occasionaly. i understand that no mydsl application exist for a text based audio player, but how hard is it to make one ? or is there one that i have missed ? thanks in advance Brendan Posted by JB4x4 on April 08 2006,21:01
Funny you asked. I compiled mp3blaster a couple of weeks ago to use on my old Compaq Laptop. < Here > is MyDSL extension you can try. It places the programs in "/opt/mp3blaster/bin" It also has menu items, if you are using one of the window managers.
