Is there any guide to install DSL on USB and to boot from USB. I have DSL live CD and Genx USB2 memory stick to be used on my toshiba satellite  70 laptop. Also will I need to make USB bootable before it and if Mo how to do it. If all this need commands, then I want some guide with complete commands as I am not familiar with command line interface.
I booted from live CD but I was not even able to know whther it is recognizing my USB drive or not?

From the FAQ:

How Do I Install to a USB Pendrive?

First, boot up your computer from the DSL livecd, frugal, or USB-frugal. Note that it is not possible to do a USB install, or any other kind of install from a DSL Embedded system.

In the Fluxbox menu, go Apps >> Tools >> Install to USB Pendrive and choose either USB-ZIP emulation or USB-HDD emulation, depending on what is supported by your computer's bios.

Ya I read it but I am confused some people say first to partition ths USB stick, then format, then make it bootable, and in the end to install OS in it. So all these steps are not neede in this method?

Sorry to bother but just another repeat question. I want to run scanModem tool. I have downloaded it and saved in my USB drive via XP. However when I boot in DSL from live CD, I don,t know whether it is recognizing my HD and USB or not? I don,t know how to mount USB and which command I should use to run it from USB drive( the instructions on website are only about running it from HD and floppy drive. I don,t have floppy drive on my laptop and also don,t want to use my HD. So what command should I use. And what command should I use to save the result of scanModem back to my USB key( not HD).
I will be thankful for help.
