I just bought this little laptop which doesn't have a floppy or cd/dvd drive. It has options in the bios to boot from floppy (?), hdd, lan or USB cd rom drive. I tried to boot it via USB drive I prepared with a live cd but unfortunately it didn't work. Probably it's looking for the bloody panasonic USB cd drive. Is there a way I can make this baby boot from my USB stick ?

I tried the USB stick in my desktop computer, it booted ok.

I guess by floppy it means usb floppy. and usb cdrom means what it says, cdrom.... if you want to boot from the memory stick, you want USB-HDD or USB-ZIP neither of which your bios has... Any usb-cdrom should boot though from the sound of it...

did you guys solve the problem?

I need to reinstall my system so I bought an IDE Matsushita DVD drive and put it on some IDE to USB wire.
It recognizes it on the boot sequence but it doesnt boot from it..........

I am investigating but found nothing so far.
