I run dsl from a USB Drive and when I mount the usb drive I can read fine off the whole usb drive but I can't write to it. I wan't to copy some files and make a simple .txt file.

Can you writeto it, if you are root?

right-click emelfm and select "open as root"

or type "sudo su" to terminal if you want to use terminal
