I installed DSL on a flash drive on one computer.  Now I'm booting on a different computer, and although in the bootup process, DSL recognizes that this second computer has an optical mouse on USB, when the desktop comes up, I can't move the cursor around.

The mouse on the initial computer works fine, and is a standard non-usb mouse.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Something I've noticed:

Is the USB mouse you're using actually plugged into a USB port, or is going through a PS/2 to USB adapter?

I found in 2.2 that on one of my setups, DSL would see the USB mouse as USB, but since it was going through an adapter, it should  have configured it as a PS/2.  Next boot, I forced it to PS/2 and it worked for me.

Well, that's a good thought, but this one is actually going through a usb port.

If you setup flash w/ backup on first computer or are using the standard boot up on the second usb mouse computer then...
Try exiting X and running xsetup.sh from cli to get to the mouse setup area.
There you can choose usb mouse.
