hii have extracted dsl onto my usb stick and installed syslinux on my 512 mbyte usb device..it works fine on my laptop where i can configure usb boot in the bios but my desktop machine bios doesnt support usb boot..now i have grub installed on the desktop machine because of an installation of kanotix and now i'd like to know what lines i have to add to grub in order to get another menu item that boots dsl from my usb stick can you please help me, thanx martin Posted by ^thehatsrule^ on Sep. 18 2006,20:09
You can copy the kernel and initrd to your hard drive, and add the default frugal boot section to grub, but with added boot parameters (such as fromusb, or fromhd=/dev/sdXx)
