I installed DSL-embedded onto a Sandisk 256 flash drive. I am trying to run this on my Dell 5150 Laptop. When I try a straight boot, I get the startup screen, I see it starting to load and then the screen goes blank and it seems to hang. When I tried a failsafe boot, It does not seem to find the knoppix software. I
noticed in the bootup script, that knoppix was upper case and in the KNOPPIX directory, it weas lower case. Thinking that case may make a difference, I changed the script, but to no avail. Anyone experience the same problem that can lend some insight into this.
Thanks.

Same problem here but on a EPIA V board.  I too am using the DSL-Embedded with the same crash problem.  There seems to be some module that is causing the crash.

I'm continuing to hack away but so far no answers.

neilford, there are known startup problems with the 5150.

Most recent thread is in: < http://damnsmalllinux.org/cgi-bin....t=15757 >
Or you can do a forum search (from the beginning) with the keyword: 5150
