Problems Booting

I am a complete newbie to this, i have copied over the files as per some instructions i have found within this site.
The problem is that after the post it just hangs after 'Verifying DMI pool'.. i can see the lights within the USB pen flickering so theres some activity... i think..
What am i doing wrong.. please help
