problem with syslinuxForum: USB booting Topic: problem with syslinux started by: statman Posted by statman on April 07 2005,02:35
Sorry for the basic post, but I'm very new to DSL. I just read the Feb 2005 article Linux on a Stick and am trying to make a bootable pen drive. All the commands in that article worked nicely, until the last command, which is "syslinux /dev/sda". My DSL installation (dsl-1.0rc2-syslinux.iso) cannot find the syslinux command. Nor could a few other distros I have downloaded. Is there anything that I can do in order to make this bootable pen drive work? Thanks in advance.Tom Posted by cbagger01 on April 07 2005,03:54
Boot into DSL.Start Synaptic from the DSL menu Choose syslinux from the list of programs. Push the install button. When install is finished, exit Synaptic. Open a terminal window type: sudo su syslinux /dev/sda and you are in business. |
