I'm very new to linux. Once, I used knoppix, but only for 3 hrs or so.I wanted to place DSL on a USB 2.0 memory stick of 128 MB. When I booted I got the following error
I think I did something wrong Can please someone give me the right download -> the latest version -> used for USB memory sticks please help me out, because I've been hearing that this OS was the best of all Posted by Guest on June 05 2005,17:26
The error message you got doesn't seem to come from DSL. In fact, I'd say it is a DOS boot error message. This means either your computer is not capable of booting from USB, or you did not set your computer to boot from USB.

1. Download the latest dsl.iso version (already done)2. Burn a CD-R disk with Nero. For Nero5, Choose File -> Burn Image from the top menu bar. For Nero6, Choose Recorder -> Burn Image from the top menu bar. Then choose *.iso file format and select the dsl.iso file that your saved in step 1. 3. Set your computer BIOS to allow booting from CDROM drive. Also, turn on USB booting if available. Then save settings. 4. Insert newly burned DSL cd-r disk into drive. 5. Insert USB drive into USB port on computer. 5. Turn on computer and Boot DSL. Press ENTER at the boot prompt, or wait 30 seconds and it will continue booting. 6. Right-Click on any unused portion of the desktop. The Fluxbox "Start" menu will appear. 7. Choose Apps -> Tools -> Install to USB pen drive. 8. Chose "No" for USBZIP installation. 9. Choose "Yes" for pendrive usbhdd download. 10. Assuming that your computer does not have a SCSI hard drive or another USB drive, choose "sda" for device name. 11. When completed, reboot and try out your USB drive. 12. If your computer does not support USBHDD booting but DOES support USBZIP booting, retry but choose "YES" for USBZIP installation. Good Luck.
