First, greetings all for being new here.
I hope my questions haven't been answered already though I made some search.
Coming to DSL from a link to Metropipe. A USB key helping me to connect to the web from host computers (including internet cafés) in a private mode sounded nice.
I undertstand the limitation but was disappointed you can't save your bookmarks with Firefox!
I imagine all is about how "light" you want the product and the objective of 128MB from Metropipe seems to me too challenging today when a 512MB USB key  is not that expensive.
I "stumbled" on the proposal of this site. Metropipe is free but I don't mind to pay when it's worth it and when it helps those kinds of initiaitve like here.
I find too bad part of the money goes to the USB key itself. Why not selling the software only to be downloaded and installed like Metropipe?
Still, while I have sympathy to this place as a sponsor, I wonder what's the feed back from this key.
Does it allow to save bookmarks?
What about upgrades?

An other issue I find with DSL on USB is proxy. I read in this forum how to set up your proxy e.g. when at work.
But travelling, you will find many places (starting with internet cafés) with such proxy. You'll get the setting easily from IE before plugging your USB. But we have to admit the setting under DSL is not easy.

The software CAN be downloaded for FREE.

Just download the ISO file and burn it to CD-R disk.

Then boot from CDROM.

After booted, select "Install to pendrive" from the Right-Click fluxbox menu.

If you pay for the DSL USB pendrive, not only do you get a pendrive, but your payment is also a contribution to help the developers for this project.

So while you can install DSL for free on an existing pendrive, it is also a good idea to support the DSL developers and buy a DSL pendrive.  Your choice.

Thanks for your help. I understand the sponsoring side of buying the key and it's fine with me.
I may find more convenient to download and install (I have already several USB keys) and make a donation via paypal on the other hand.

Specifically, choose:

Apps -> Tools -> Install to USB Pendrive -> For USBHDD Pendrive.

Thanks for the hint. While I'm at it, just not sure which file is that: dsl-1.5.iso or dsl-1.5-syslinux.iso?
And dsl-embedded.zip (or dsl-1.5-embedded.zip??) is that the version with qemu? Because that's what I expect to do. To launch DSL on the USB key from Windows.
