I looked through the forums and the DSL Wiki but could not find the steps for building the proper image file for running DSL Embedded. I would like to try a few changes/additions and then run as embedded.

Are there instructions available? Did I miss them?

Thanks,

Use the Knoppix remastering howto's
Really not much different. Go to the Qemu support site and learn about -cdrom and -kernel options. I used to distribute DSL Qemu with the -cdrom option, by far the easiest.  But since Qemu is a "known" virtual machine, I switched to the -kernel option so that setup questions that don't apply need not be of concern.
