...To run embedded Dsl in a non winblows environment?such as dos or somthing?

You can run DSL embedded from inside a Linux system.

In other words, you can even boot DSL native and then launch DSL embedded from inside your linux host OS.

I have also tried booting distros like SUSE without running xserver and then running embedded DSL. It worked well, considering the slower computer I was running.
