I have searched through the forums but not found any answers to my question so here goes:

I'm running the embedded version from a USB memory stick, which works fine.  I am able to use the mydsl program to download and install apps, but when I reboot the virtual machine all my apps are lost.  I tried saving the .dsl files in the root partition (where the KNOPPIX directory is) but they still do not show up on boot.

Any suggestions how to get this working?  I'd really like to have nmap and a few other apps available for troubleshooting.

I'm having the same trouble.

While we're on this topic - I'm also curious about this '5-way install' of DSL.  Is there a separate installer that allows one to boot either from USB or as a virtual machine?  Or is it just the standard iso installer that allows you to do this.
