Some help for a real Linux/DSL newbie...

I've downloaded and unzipped the dsl-2.0-embedded files in my Windows directory. As far as I can tell, the unzip went fine.  When I click on the batch job it appears for about 5 sec "REM Start qemu on Windows" then disappears with no DSL startup. I can Boot DSL fine from my hard drive - but no luck from Windows.

I'm using Windows 98 on Gateway laptop with 133MHz MMX processor and 64mb of RAM.

Any ideas?

Thanks.Ray

You don't have enough memory or horses for Qemu.
I can just barely run Qemu DSL on a 500Mhz with 256MB ram.

I think most users are saying acceptable performance requires 1Ghz+ and 512MB+

The fast Mhz is more important than the RAM.

You can get by running DSL embedded with 256MB of RAM but a faster CPU is a must.

No way you can run embedded on a computer like that.
However I could run embedded + kqemu accelerator on a slightly better machine but that was Win 2000. I don't think you can run the kqemu accelerator on win 98.
