Hello there, im new to DSL.

Im having a problem with dsl on my xp computer,when i use the .bat file it runs, but everything is... Weird, its all discolored and messed up. When it finally gets past the loading screen i see what appears to be a desktop, sept it is discribed as above, very messed up.

Try changing your MSWindows Desktop resolution to 16 bit color.

Then try again.

Thanks! that cleared it up! i just wish i could get my damned dos computer to run and get on DSL.

what if you can't change from 24 to 16?

say... because of admins?

i need to run things at work that this xp garbage won't run, but i don't want to boot from disk to usb and risk throwing up flags when a comp connects to the network without their stuff running on it.

i like the embedded idea because i could minimize it when the boss is around if i'm not doing something productive on it , but restrictions do not allow me to change depth.


please advise

If this is your problem, don't use DSL embedded.

Instead, use DSL + vmware player.  The vmware player is free and there is a ready-made vmware DSL image at the DSL download site.
