Errrrr........

Im running an embedded version of DSL 2.2
on pressing ctrl+alt+f it goes full screen - thanks to whoever pointed that out.  My major bugbare is the resolution now its full screen.

Ok, simple question but i am new at this Linux lark - how would I go about changing the resolution to my moniotrs native one of 1280x1024?

Thanks for answering (<--- a Pre-emptive thanks ;) )

John

open up a terminal and then type:
Code Sample
./xsetup.sh

and you'll be presented with a wizard for setting up resolution and keyboard layouts.

I just right clicked and selected xview and then chose 1280x1024

oh. oh. ooooooo okey
but is it possible to make it start that way?
lyk load straight into the non standard resolution, rather than loading and the typing in ./setup.sh

There's no standard resolution.
If you boot for the first time, xsetup.sh will pop up anyway and ask you for settings.
If you backed up your data and reboot, the resolution you've chosen earlier will be available.

This is not true.
DSL embedded boots directly into 800x600 mode.
It gets this setting as well as other default settings from an initial default backup supplied on the virtual hdb drive.

To change the resolution is the same as all other versions of DSL.
1. run xsetup.sh and restart X
2. edit the file .xinitrc and manually enter the resolution
3. simply use the Xvesa GUI from the control panel and select from the available resolutions, X will be restarted automatically.

The chosen resolution will persist via a normal shutdown as the backup is performed.
