German keyboard?

I'm trying to run DSL embedded at work on Win-XP (my only option to use linux there  :( ) and I have a German keyboard. DSL starts nicely and is surprisingly fast under Qemu (3.2 GHz Pentium 4 with 1 Gig RAM), but I cannot get the German keyboard to work.

I've tried the DSL control panel's Keyboard tab and selected its de-latin-no-dead-keys option, but with no success. Then I tried including 'lang=de' in the dsl-windows.bat file (within the double-quotes of the '-append "qemu ..."' section) and noticed that when booting DSL it mentioned that it was loading the (seemingly) correct keyboard, but still no success (the characters that appear when, for example, I press the ö and ä keys are now different than before, but still not correct: they show up as [ and ] respectively; other german keyboard characters are also mostly incorrect).

Has anyone managed to get this to work? If so, please tell me how!

Thanks in advance,

Well, it's surely my fault... but I just registered to put in the same question. I simply can't manage to load the german keyboard layout. So far I've gave it a try on the embedded and vmx version. no luck...

Beside this (major) issue dsl seems to be perfect  :)

change it via console (loadkeys ...) or change it via x (system->x setup or keyboard) and RESTART X

That's it.

Thanks for the tips!! I will try them out when I go back to work on Monday.
