Not sure if this is in the right place, but i am running DSL embedded so i guessed it should go here.

Anyway, when i was trying to download apps from myDSL, it gets so far (about 70-80% and then stops and says --stalled--) i am behind a router but everything else works so i am not sure that this is the problem. This is not just a one off either, i tried samba, gaim and a few games, any help would be greatly appreciated

Might want to try another mirror.
Use DSLpanel and click Select Mirror Button.

have the same problem. dirty little fix:
open another list off apps or games in the mydsl window. while its loading the list my stalled download continues downloading.

There seems to be an issue with the process of downloading a myDSL app on the DSL embedded version. I am not sure if it is a Qemu issue or DSL. I went back to DSL 2.1 and it works but have seen the stalling issue since.

Could very well be an issue with Qemu.
The early versions of Qemu net access had such issues.
I recall cbagger's post on such.
But then again, I see alot of stalling when using the default access point of ibiblio.org. They must get very busy. I usually change to another mirror.

If I remember correctly, QEMU 0.6.1 and older were plauged by this network bug.

If you have QEMU 0.7.x you should be fine. For example, DSL used 0.7.2 without problems for a long time.
