Hello, I am very new to Linux, actually first time trying last noight.  I read something about DSL while doing some research on Linux.  I am on dial-up and seen that it was only 50mg.  I chose the embedded version and it runs fine, but I want to run from boot without windows.  I have it decompiled on a cd. I have set to boot up on cd and it tries but finds no OS.

Should I have downloaded the ISO version?  Any help. Now remember this is the first time I have every seen or used Linux.

Thank You...

If you computer is old you need to download syslinux version.
Does it load anythng at all? Can you see a penguin logo? If yes, where?

Yes it loads up fine through windows, being the embedded version with the "dsl-windows.bat" file.  I would like to have it boot up from the cd-rom, instead of having to use qemu with windows.

Okay let's ask this way: Where it hangs? Does DSL logo ever appear?

yes, for cdrom boot grab the iso. make sure you burn as a image at 4x on a cdr for best results.
