Okay I have a pretty basic system p4 3.0ghz running Windows XP Sp2.

I've tried both dsl3.0 and dsl3.1 rc1.  Either one I try I download the embedded zip extract it to a folder.  After clicking on the dsl-windows.bat it brings up qemu and gets to the point of uncompressing linux kernel ...   Then it barfs and I get a windows error that qemu has encountered a problem and needs to exit.  Sometimes I get a memory error as a nother person has posted earlier.

I'm at a loss for ideas or anything to try to even fix the problem.  Any help would be appreciated.

Okay I believe I may have fixed my problem.  Still waiting for it to boot but I right clicked on the qemu.exe and on the compatibility tab changed it so its running with windows 9x compatibility.  Then I just double clicked the dsl-windows.bat and it appears to be working.

Yeap definately working

I had the same problem, but like Histo said, just go into the qemu folder, right click on qemu.exe, click on the Compatability tab, click "Run this program in compatability mode for:" And then in the drop down menu, select Windows 95. His says Windows 9x, but my computer doesn't list that, so I tried 95, and it works perfectly fine for me. Hope this solves that problem for the many people having that problem.

King Wiley, I believe he means 9x as in 95 or 98.
