Hi all
I got an embedded board (PCM-4823, 133 MHz, 32 MB ram). It boots fine when not installing a pc104 pcmcia extension. I got two different pcmcia pc104 modules. I installed both alternatively. DSL 3.01 reboots when the message "starting cardmgr appears". It displays before:
Quote
...
INIT:  Version 2.78-knoppix booting
Running linux kernel 2.4.26
 processor 0 is Am5x86-WB
Skipping APM bios detection as requested on comand line
PCMCIA found. Starting Cardmgr

Th boot options are:
Quote

kernel /boot/linux24 root=/dev/hda2 quiet vga=normal noacpi noapm nodma noscsi frugal
initrd /boot/minirt24.gz

So: any ideas?

Hi there
I started the box with nopcmcia parameter. I looked in /lib/modules/2.4.26/pcmcia for a matching kernel module. It wasn't there. So I guess I need to compile one on my own. Module I am looking for is for RICOH RF5C396L. It *should* be OK with linux 2.4, at least the pcmcia tells so.

I followed the theads in this forum about compiling kernels and modules for DSL. Does noet seem to be a piece of cake. So does anyone have that module for 2.4.26?

Hi there

I could trace the problem to some degree, see this post:
