I've tried to download some file i want like Open Office and FreeX86 (or what ever its called) to make my DSL more productive. How ever, when I try to download them, they download for a while but then they become "stalled" and won't do anything. Any thing i can do to fix this?

If you are using DSL embedded, ie., Qemu virtual machine, you could be out of ram space. Those are very large apps. If ram space is not the issue and network is, then choose another mirror for downloads. See DSLpanel->Select Mirror. Becareful with Qemu, you are juggling many things Windows, Qemu virtual machine, DSL, and large extensions and limited access to real devices.

is there a way to redirect the downloads to a diffrent place so that it dosn't use RAM?

Save it to a permanent media location - whether that be a virtual disk image, or a writable drive that's passed to qemu.
