Hi I’m new to DSL, but not new to Linux. I have DSL embedded on a U3 usb pen drive in windows XP. When I download a module from MyDSL, it works fine. At shutdown  I’ve  save the modules , but they not there when I reboot. I tried to save  them in /root as the Dillo welcome page said to, when that did work I googled and on the wiki it said to download them to /cdrom, which I did and they sill weren’t there. Can some please point me in the right direction, as I really like DSL .

If you are using the .bat file from within Windows, then you are using Qemu a virtual machine. This virtual machine is like a sandbox in that it does not have easy access to real drives for persistent storage. You can always check the Qemu site to see where they are in their development in this area. It is not a DSL issue. In the meantime, many users are using alternate means to access real drives to save their extensions and user settings, such as smbclient, Samba/LinNeighborhood, email, and webdata.

Trying to start using DSL in a virtual sandbox machine is not easy, as one must learn both DSL and the challenges presented by the virtual machine.
