memory could not be read

I love DSL works fine from a cd boot but the embedded version stop with teh following message:

The instruction at 0x0043e500 referenced memory at "0c0b4b2210".  The memory could not be "read"

not quite sure what to do here.  Anyone know?
I am booting on a generic laptop core duo with 1gb ram win xp 2002 verison with sp2

Try this, from windows, right click on the qemu.exe and set properties to Win98 compatible. Also, may need to reduce the number of colors, use Windows control panel if necessary

Ding Dong!  Could this get any better!  Worked first time!  Big smile on my face now I can muck around in XP again. Thanks a million. (Well a couple of quid actually I'll make a donation in the next coulple of days!)  This fix worked!(all it needed was the compatibility mode change) [B][U]
