when I try moving a file from DSL to my Pendrive(/cdrom/), i get permission denied. how do i get around that?

In general, it depends on the folder and/or file ownership and permissions - in this particular case I guess dsl believes /cdrom is read-only.

You should be able to write to your pendrive via /mnt/sda1 or something similar - unless you're using dsl-n

If you boot with the cheatcode "frugal" it will attempt to mount /cdrom as read-write.

I have to enter as root, or it's read only (even with "frugal")
