| nfs-kernel-serverForum: DSL Embedded Topic: nfs-kernel-server started by: Xilinx Posted by Xilinx on Nov. 17 2008,14:02 I downloaded dsl 4.2.5 Embedded and did a harddisk install under VMWare. The idea is to set DSL up as an NFS server for my Embedded ARM board. (since I can't find a free windows NFS server ) According to the /etc/init.d/nfs-kernel-server I need; rpc.nfsd rpc.mountd exportfs None of these files are present on my system. Can I still setup my DSL as an NFS server without these files? I think not... Posted by curaga on Nov. 17 2008,14:24 See the nfs-kernel-server.dsl extension in Testing category, it includes just those files to let you run a NFS server. Posted by Xilinx on Nov. 17 2008,14:53 I got the nfs-kernel-server.dsl from < http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub....testing > Working fine now! Thanks Curaga! Side note: free as in open-source or free as in no cost to use? If the latter, MS's solution is there... see SFU (windows services for unix) Posted by curaga on Nov. 17 2008,20:47 Hey, hey, hats what are you doing? Just when we got another convert, are you throwing him/her back to the wolves? Posted by ^thehatsrule^ on Nov. 18 2008,01:25 just remember, you gotta feed the wolves too ;p |
