Has anyone else seen this?  When I run embeded dsl 1.1, if I choose menu->Window Manager->restart it works fine.  If I choose menu->Window Manager->exit can't type startx to get things going again.  Is there a way around this?

Not that I know of.

Maybe there is some info on the qemu web site or mailing lists.

I found that you can restart x by choosing the system->Xvesa menu and changing the resolution (even if you change it to the resolution you had).

The reason I needed to restart X and not just fluxbox was I was playing around with window managers and couldn't switch them because .xinitrc wasn't being run.

One option is to load your window manager into the background, and add an xterm to the end of .xinitrc.  This will allow you to close the window manager without closing X.  Instead, X will be closed when you close the xterm.

I think that embedded uses frame buffer by default, so maybe using Xvesa will restore your frame buffer console correctly.

At least I think that this is what is happening.
