HI!

i have problems with the FRUGAL install...

i have several systems running on the same hardware:
VIA Epia5000 motherboard
256Mb + 128Mb pc100 SDRAM
CF-IDE adapter
various CF-cards from 32Mb -> 1Gb
a 60W "brick" PSU
+ a 24* CDROM (only connected for installations)

all my other systems runs fine on this setup
m0n0wall, EISFAIR, Knoppix & Debian...

but when i try to install DSL-FRUGAL it doesnt recognize my CF-card (connected as master on IDE1 via CF-IDE adapter)

(exactly the same setup for all systems incl same CF)

IF i use a USB 2.0 Multi-Card Reader from Lexar and connect the CF-card there it all works fine (but usb is kinda slow-boot)

I want it to work with my CF-IDE adapters so do you have any sollutions to solve this??

best regards

UndCon

Which error message did you get?  "... only works reliably on hda ..."?  or "... not detected a linux partition ..."?

I recently just had the same problem.  I solved it by going into cmos setup while the cf was plugged into the cf/ide adapter and used auto configure for the hard drive and it set up the configuration for my cf as a 256 meg hard drive. After that, I was able to do my frugal install and everything worked.
