I am very new to DSL and have only played a little with the bootable cd version... i want to install to a USB drive and run DSL from in windows 98 SE and how does it work, is it a smaller window within the 98 environment or what... :(

Yep. DSL runs in windows using < QEMU >. QEMU emulates a PC and DSL runs on the emulated PC. It normally runs in a window although you can make it full screen if you want (using the -full-screen option).

I would suggest downloading the dsl-1.4-embedded.zip file to your win98 machine and unzip it and run dsl-windows.bat file to see if it runs ok on your machine before trying to install to USB. IF it does work then you can install to usb after your sure it will work no probs.... this will eliminate some potential problems and get you familiar with embedded real quick....
:D

You can also switch in and out of full screen mode by pressing the

CTRL-ALT-F

keys

there is the dsl-1.4-embedded.zip and dsl-embedded.zip... both are the same size... what is the difference? is one better than the other for running in 98 SE or what? ???
