SCSI bootingForum: DSL Ideas and Suggestions Topic: SCSI booting started by: renato Posted by renato on Feb. 18 2006,08:18
Recently I started tinkering around with DSL, and was surprised by it's performance - I really like it.But, as I happen to use it on older PCs with SCSI storage devices, booting DSL from a SCSI, have a floppy with the appropriate kernel module for your controller at hand, and type in configurations. I found this somewhat annoying, so I my hope is, that kernel modules for the PCI controllers from Adaptec and Symbios (which seem to be the vast majority) should be re-integrated into the distro. I would suggest aic7xxx.o and sym53c8xx_2.o. Tnx R. d. H. Posted by cbagger01 on Feb. 19 2006,03:53
Have they been reintegrated with the kernel rollback for DSL version 2.2b?I think they might already be back. Posted by roberts on Feb. 19 2006,04:34
