I'm interested in beta testing.  I have VM Player but may replace it with VMWare Server Beta.

Yes I will remember ummm , who, ummm I don't know lets go buy something fun...

Yes, I will give something to the DSL folks not sure what, remember that almost 35% will go for taxes for the winner. I donated to their wall of appreciation a couple of days after I found DSL. I will be making another one soon, anyway I use this product and it is one of VERY few (If not ONLY ONE I can think of) I like to give money too.

The VM: It currently appears that it maybe disqualified because one of the needed apps, is a commercial application that the user must own, when running it. I will release it for outside beta testing here when I get the word if it is going to be accepted. Either way I will be posting it within a couple of weeks. I hope it rocks the world.

If you are wanting to test the VM's (3 currently, plans for 6 total) post here and when I release them, I will email everyone that has a posted here, a download link.
Thanks

I would like everyone that I have submitted my entry. We will see who walks away from there with the money.

It is on an ftp connection that will only be on during the weekends. The connection is used for a business during the week. I will post it as soon as I can, files are not currently on server. The link will be < ftp://www.crd-dwc.com/download/vm/ > Windows version "cod2_pb_ver-03.zip" Linux version "cod2_pb_ver-03.tar.gz"
Approx. 200 megs in size plus md5s. Please check them before use
username "vmware" password "dsldsl"

I thought I would submit a note about the "Game Server Appliance" that I put together for the VMware Challenge. This really is not a suprise to those that have seen my other posts here. My thanks to those who offered to help. It uses Damn Small Linux and the Linux version of the Call of Duty 2 Servers by Ryan C. Gordon. It was included with his permission.

It does require that you own a copy of the Call of Duty 2 game. This may get it disqualified, however keep this thought in your mind, "There are over 12 million game players in the United States alone." However only about 200,000 - 400,000 IT personel in the US. (Depends on where you look as to how many there are.)

Simply boot it up, insert the DVD, type in a password & server name and then have a fully functional COD2 Server to play your games on. I have also got 4 other servers functional,  I will be putting together different packages as interests develope.

You can download it starting Sat. 5-26-06, remember it is a cable modem and will max at 69k upload speed.
:)
