If one could add rexec to the dsl applications list, just about any computer could be used as an X-terminal. I'm looking into using DSL in an industrial environment to connect with DEC Alphas running OpenVMS. Put DSL with rexec on a pen-drive (or move to CD) and boot right into an X-terminal mode.

EDIT: in what regards is rexrec better than standard SSH forwarding?

I'm not quite sure about OpenVMS and how it handles standard SSH forwarding. I have an old Dell with RedHat 7.2 on it and it "rexec"s into my DECs just fine. But later iterations of rexec blow off iwth an "Invalid argument" message. It's obvious that I have a lot more research to do on this topic.
