openMosixForum: DSL Ideas and Suggestions Topic: openMosix started by: adeodatus Posted by adeodatus on June 21 2006,00:29
So what are the odds of getting openMosix on DSL? It would be a really cool addition to DSL's functionality, and, I figure, not _too_ big space wise. The user tools add something like ~200 kB and the kernel patch (it's made for kernel 2.4, anyway) adds something like 200 kB, as far as I can tell. Still, that doesn't seem like much to turn DSL into a cluster base as well as an awesome Linux distro. Thoughts?~Cheers Posted by newby on June 30 2006,12:32
Sounds cool!I can think of some apps I'd like to put on such a system. Would there be some way to combine it with bittorrent to increase the inter-system speed? EDIT: I've been looking at the site. It uses the same kernel as DSL. Should be pretty easy to port over. |
