I remember when there used to be Linux installation parties every month in SF.

Perhaps we could do the same with DSL.

Help people with wierd configuration issues.

Get it posted in the Chronicle Pink Section every month.

:;):  Could be good marketing...

I don't know if this is legally possible. DSL contains bits that whose licensing is unclear(but this is to say for most Linux distro, anyway...). I tried to do that at a very big LUG and members gave many objections.

If people are that obsessive about licensing (FYI - DSL seems to be aware and in compliance with it's licensing terms for included software), you can suggest that they do a "Debian Installfest".

Debian is about as "pure" as it gets when it comes to the inclusion of free and open software, almost to a fault.

If anyone objects to licensing issues with Debian, they should give up computing and switch back to the abacus.

The San Francisco Bay Area Linux Users Group has periodic install fests.  DSL folks should join them and promote DSL.
