Their could be a documentation mistake.  The beaver text editor can not read files that start with a dot [.]  The documentation tells you  to use a text editor such as Beaver to edit these config files.  It is incorrect.  Also it might be a good idea to point the user to external links to general Debian Linux guides.  Thank's.

Files that begin with a dot are "hidden" files, and some silly programs do not display them by default. Some applications have a button or menu item  or hotkey to toggle the visibility of dotfiles.  Beaver apparently isn't as obvious.

In Beaver, if you type "." in the file selector and then press Tab, it should display all dotfiles in the current directory.

So...the documentation on this is not incorrect, but simply fails to mention a bit of information that is (or should be) common knowledge after your first couple of days with Linux.

There are links to general Linux docs in the Wiki.  Only a few right now, but it will be expanded
