The last time I updated busybox I had major issues with the following:

insmod, modprobe, rmmod, swapon, mount, umount, tar, and test

If I update busbox, it will mean another round of much testing via release candidates.
It would be nice if these applets have been updated to work for us. It would mean some needed space savings.

If anyone has experience with these applets, let me know. I am using them on the new 2.6 kernel DSL, but I don't know how well supported they are on 2.4 kernel platform.

You could always use two different busybox binaries. The current one for those you have big issues with, and a updated one for every other busybox tool.
