I am new to Linux but love trying out the OS. I really wish LiveCD Linux could run limited Window program so I need not switch back to Window that frequently.

I believe WineX enable some Window program to run from within Linux, could someone make WineX available as DSL. I have found WineX 3.3.1 at < http://www003.portalis.it/115....nv.html > .

There are several people who are working on a wine.dsl ..
I have received many different versions of working wine.dsl files..
Some operate incompletely, or misbehave intermittantly,
Others include files which negatively affect the DSL base .iso.

I am happy to see progress in this area.
I may upload some of the newer offerings to the testing area
with the understanding that they should be evaluated in an
environment that you can afford to LOSE.( ie, don't test in your tweaked, sweet HDInstall !! )
If you don't want to reinstall - then DON'T DO IT

WineX is not the same as wine.  It's based on wine and started from the wine code, but it adds direct-X support and more compatibility for games.  When I looked at their web site < www.transgaming.com >, they have a subscription of $5.00 a month.

I don't know about the link you posted, but you should be able to load RPM files (redhat package manager) using alien, which you can get from debian.org using apt-get or whatever to load it.

i have tried to do a wine.dsl but dsl does not put /etc on the ramdisk which makes it far more complicated, if i do it from and hdinstall then will the mydsl-load script allow files to be put in /etc? if so then i may be able to do it.
