| DSL as a network toolForum: DSL Ideas and Suggestions Topic: DSL as a network tool started by: green Posted by green on Nov. 23 2004,06:16 No doubt this has been done. However, as a noob, I've put ethereal on my laptop running DSL 0.8.3 on hard drive and am considering other apps/tools/utils to use in the network support arena. I'm sick and tired of Winblows and think this old IBM 600E can be a great tool for diagnosing/sniffing, etc. Post your suggestions, but remember I'm a noob, so MyDSL and Synaptic apps/installs would be the way to go. <now if only i could get the hang of making icons on the desktop for eithereal, etc.> Posted by skaos on Nov. 23 2004,15:55 You could also try one of these: < http://www.inside-security.de/insert_en.html > < http://www.lnx-bbc.org/ > Posted by AwPhuch on Nov. 23 2004,19:57 http://www.knoppix-std.org/ is a real good one to use Brian AwPhuch Posted by green on Nov. 24 2004,00:28 I'll give those a look.
