bit torrent for iso downloadsForum: DSL Ideas and Suggestions Topic: bit torrent for iso downloads started by: clacker Posted by clacker on Nov. 30 2004,00:18
Is there any advantage to setting up the dsl.iso downloads so that you can get them with bit torrent? If I understand it correctly, the more people that leave the file available for others to get, the faster you can download it because the load is distributed better. It seems to me that ibilio is really slow. Would this be hard to set up? Are there other issues?

Use the belnet mirror. Its FAST! About the torrent thing, remember that we have a lot of dialup junkies around here, and seeding takes a lot of time and bandwidth. Although it would be nice for the dialup people to download, I'm not sure our community is big enough yet to support a torrent, but I could be wrong. As for now though, only ibiblio (which has been having network-wide problems) is slow, so use another mirror. -J.P. Posted by regsx on Dec. 05 2004,03:53
