i think you need a nice new "DSL" wallpaper. and maybe a theme change. and no wallpaper with the damnsmalllinux.org logo....... grey >.< the forum one is more like it. but it doesnt say anything good. lol. *shrugs* doesnt even need to be a DSL logo. just the current one isnt that enticing.

No offense meant, but if it isn't mostly black, it has no place on my desktop....I absolutely hate the color blue on a computer screen (maybe it's a throwback from my BSOD days). The graphics are nice, though...mostly clean and easy on the eyes. Posted by chibiace on Aug. 06 2004,07:14
its not done yet >.< anyway not everyone will like it. lol Posted by davide on Aug. 06 2004,08:20
right. not everyone will like it. thanx for the job, but I'm among the ones who don't. No offense meant.black is easier on the eyes and most of all, it works well with poor screen that are usually associated with poor pc; DSL is the best distro for poor pc so... Posted by l0st on Aug. 06 2004,10:09
Agreed, but that doesn't prevent anyone from making it fancy.I for one support this move, whether I like this or not. Posted by Delboy on Aug. 06 2004,14:00
Check out the blue 'FlatED' theme on the fluxbox website which shows a very small Tux with drinking straw draining a juice carton not much smaller than himself. Carton, naturally, is branded 'Windows sucks'. This looks great on my ancient 12.5" laptop TFT at 800x600 res.

Make a theme.dsl if you want something different. I LOVE the current default theme. It's simple and cool and I like it black.

...or a theme.tar.gz, just to keep everything tip-top.

It is a very good looking theme. But we need a very basic theme to be the default because we need it to render well on older hardware and we need the default theme to use little ram.If the image is small I would be happy to add it to the theme many, and if is on the larger side I would really like to see it in the repository as an extension. hmmm i restarted fluxbox or something after i had taken these. and the workspace things were colored. and i have no idea how to do the cpu thing. so i will do that if you tell me how >.< yes it looks kinda sickening.< desktop. > < menu. (worse then before i think) > now. i want to make it into a dsl. without reading how to do it. lol tell me :P (soooo lazy *kicks his own ass*) Posted by cbagger01 on Aug. 07 2004,22:15
tar -zcvf themename.tar.gz -C $HOME/.fluxbox/styles/themenamewhere themename is the name of your new theme. You may need to strip out any directory names that are listed inside your tarball before publishing the file, but this should give you a good start. Posted by chibiace on Aug. 08 2004,15:53
tar -zcvf themename.tar.gz -C $HOME/dsl/.fluxbox/styles/themenamedont you mean that? Posted by cbagger01 on Aug. 08 2004,16:20
NopeThe $HOME environment variable should contain something like this: echo $HOME (to display the contents) And you should see: /home/dsl or /home/damnsmall (if the person is using an older version of DSL) Posted by chibiace on Aug. 09 2004,04:15
