If you have access to a machine shop, you can try to create a cd-rw business card cd.

First, you need a CD-R business card CD to use as a template.
Then get a 3 inch CD-RW mini disk.

Using the business card CD as a templace and a fine tip marker, draw lines on the cd-rw disk.

Then cut the cd-rw disk there using a band saw.

Finally, use a toothpick and some clear nail polish or some epoxy to seal the cut edges of the disk.  Let the sealer dry.

You are doing this at your own risk.  I don't guarantee success or even that you won't blow up your disk drive.

Assuming you can cleanly cut the silver foil layer etc without anything coming unstuck, would this work?  Wouldn't there need to be a label on the TOC or something, that would tell the drive what size the disc is?  I don't have a full understanding of how the different sizes are detected.

Actually that would work... many cheap business card CD-Rs are simply 12cm discs cut down to size (via a press) and the TOC still reads as the full disc :( - try selecting the "disc" size setting in gCombust to see what I mean :)

That said, anyone ever hear of business card sized DVD-Rs?

What of a (not necessarily Western Canadian) supplier of good quality business card sized CD-Rs?

This is very cool. I'll look around here in Japan and see if I can find any. I'll report if I do.

Recently I noticed 35Md, yes thirty five Meg, CD-Rs. Can we get DSL down to...  never mind!
