I made a remaster of DSL  with Opera , MC , Siag Office and others for the brazilian linux community (abnt2 keyboard and portuguese language). It has still only 49 mb. Of course something is out of DSL 0.4.10 (mostly abs, sylpheed, links, dillo and tuxnes) As there are few and slow links for download and a lot of people downloading it I will post the link here next week for the curious.

Edit: It also has aterm,gcombust,cdrecord,mkisofs,cdparanoia,cdda2wav,cdrdao,normalize,vorbis-tools and xdialog

(sorry for my english)

Awaiting anxiously.Thanks.

I plan to do an international version in english and a spanish one too for Latin America. Could someone give me an ftp link so that I can upload the isos and everybody can download it from there?

(sorry for my bad english)

Have you checked with ftp.ibiblio.org if they can accommodate you? They seem to have every other distro. Or how about  Linuxiso.org?

...
I can host it for a little while, I have 10gig bandwidth per month, email me.

sf.net should be able to host it, henrique.

Hello everybody !

As promised here are the links for the brazilian version (they all will expire in the next days)

< ftp://200.171.139.186/bonzai >
< http://sgm.brturbo.com/bonzai-alfa.iso >
< http://www.robsonarduin.brturbo.com/bonzai/bonzai-alfa.iso >

This iso is an amateur remaster. I am new in linux and I did it just for fun. As Kurumin is very popular in Brazil and I love it so much I gave the iso the name Kurumin Bonzai

Observation

The words knoppix and damnsmall  were substituted by kurumin in all occurences:

Examples:

the folder /KNOPPIX -->  /KURUMIN
the cheatcode knoppix toram --> kurumin toram
the user damnsmall --> kurumin

I'm now working in a new version that will permit to use the apt-get while running the live-cd.  Yesterday night when testing  the prototype I was able to install mozilla and OpenOffice 1.1 in ramdisk just by doing apt-get install mozilla and apt-get install openoffice.org !

hey I gotta say congrats to your remasterin,
Don't slam the guy askin for a tweaked version for your self, it's on one side tricky to do on your own, yet it's not so hard as  to be impossible to rig something on your own.

I've been trying intermittenly over the last few weeks to build one.

Hi friends,

I'm preparing a new iso, in english,  with some corrections and little enhancements ;-)

Yeah sounds great.  I'd love to use it a bit.

I'm creating a Knoppix remaster which is similar to DSL, it's called Feather Linux. I'll make sure it has an Opera download script:)

Could you explain all the steps in remastering with new packages (like mc, Opera) and without others?

Thx

Methinks you'll have more luck to find Henrique if you go to < http://www.kurumin.com.br/forum/ > and post something there HEHE

Hello betaluva !

I am now working in three ideas of remasters:

1- A gnome version (qt-free and gtk-only) of Kurumin that will be named Gurumin with multilingual support

2-A mini-cd remaster of DSL or Kurumin  with a light window manager , Gnome Office, Firebird, Java and other plugins

3-A 50 mb version of DSL with Firebird

The problem is that I am with few time, so I can't predict anything about dates and others details. That's why I "disappeared". Excuse me. ;-)

Someday I am going to have to build a page that lists all the modified DSL isos available on the net. There are about a dozen now, some of them are quite interesting.
