Do you have an old computer?

If so, try DSL version 0.5.3.1

ya im runnin an pentium two i just got it from my neighbors. THey seem to think it can run fine with win 2000. it takes me 2 hours just to turn it on. where can i get an older version?

Get 0.5.3.1 from the DSL download page at the web site.

0.5.3.1 has an older kernel and it might work better with your IDE controller.

If not, try some cheatcodes:

knoppix pci=bios nodma

or after bootup try:

hdparm -m0 /dev/hdb

at the commandline. You may need to be root in order to do this.

Good Luck.

Nevermind its doin the same thing again and the cheats dont work this time.
Im running a pettium 2 that was made in 1995 is that too old?

No, it is not too old.

However, you should gather some information on your computer (Manufacturer & Model number) or your motherboard. Then search using google.com and type in your computer followed by "lost interrupt". Maybe there is some help out there.

Good Luck.
