They always say first impressions are important :)

The current default fluxbox theme is ugly !!! (no apologies)

Could I make a plea for a different theme to be the default.
The very first thing I do is to change it.

Obviously I don't want anything garish either and there are some corkers in the list.
Would restricting the choices to 5 or 6 save any kbs?

(Apologies John if it's your favourite )

Feel guilty about the post , but he did ask for suggestions :)

Personally I too prefer operation, (fairly clean) but on my main box I just use one of my digi photos.......

Not as good as a squashed penguin though
Actually quite a good image for a squashed down linux......you must post!

The default theme works with very poor color capability, while most fluxbox themes are unusable at 8 bit color.  The high contrast and low color spectrum and low footprint are why I chose it as default.  Plus, the dark colors are easy on the eyes,

There are a lot of themes to chose from, I like Zetygray, Lawn, and AlfredHacked.

I agree, the default theme works well for low color depth configurations and not all users can boot in 16bit color or higher.

I use "Cthulhain" (sp?) theme myself. It adds an understated 3D style that looks nice without harsh colors or unreadable text in the user menu.

the default theme is ok. it's easy to change it and maybe it is possibile to fix one's favourite theme changing some script of back up..in order that once you "restore" you directly boot in your favourite theme..
the deafult theme in my opinion should always focus on low-end computers

OK John I take your point.

It will have to stay............

                                      ............but it's still UGLY :)
