I was just wondering if DSL supported RPM or DEB file extensions.

if you grab the dsl-dpkg.dsl extension, it installs the full apt packages.
Then using apt, pointed at debian repositories, works fine at installing
the .deb files.  Synaptic is also available, which is a graphical apt-get installer.

For RPM's , there is the aliendebs.dsl package , which will convert
the .rpm files to .deb files.

First, look in the DSL repositories, as there are many, many
offerings that easily install, and have been tested to run in DSL.
You will find the dsl-dpkg.dsl and the aliendebs.dsl in our repository.
