Now that 4.10 has a NES emulator this would be my favorite linux distro of all time except for one small thing.. theres no configsave to usb disk =( it would really really really be nice if that was put in!

I agree!

Actually, I am working on one as I write this.
I will forward what I have to John for his consideration and input.

I have been improving it so that some config files could be stored on floppy and if you have a USB pen drive then you could store much more, even Firebird.

I am hoping that it make it on the menu.

good idea
but why not a dsl config file on hd, to be removed later (if needed). it would need to  be saving as root, thought.
:D

yeah, but the thing about storing your settings is, you can open it up on any computer and it will be the same =) better for rescue disks and stuff.

The script that I submitted to John saves configs on removable media. This is why:

With just a small business card CD and my little pen drive, I can  use just about any computer. And it is more than a rescue CD. I want it to be my working desktop. That is why I asked John for more connectivity, e.g. NFS. And now I have that.

I think John has made one of the smallest desktop appliances. Just add a "white box" hardware and presto instant appliance and it works damn fast too!
I know alot of people install to hard drive. You may call it a distro. I call it a pocket desktop appliance.

On my computer that has a hard drive, I use it only for my data and not system files. Just mount a partition and go.

That way I have the best of both!
Plus I don't have re-install each new DSL to hard drive.  :)
