I think one thing that would be awesome would be to add more links to automatically download software, exactly like the firebird and flash. A couple to have would be like samba, gcc, something like gaim maybe, lots of different possibilites.

yeah... gcc would be nice... just as the name says...
got bandwidth?
Not just on the client side but the server side, imagine the drain of having everybody download an redownload gcc :)

Well, as I said in another thread, all we need is 'an easy download link to dpkg', because then we could download everything we need from Debian. How about a choice among thousands of packages? (of course not all of them suitable for use with DSL)

I guess you've already heard of. Here in Brazil there's a Live-CD distro called Kurumin, and it comes w/ lotsa' scripts to download programs both when running from CD, like Flash & nVidia 3D drivers; and when the distro is already installed in the HD.
It would be great if DSL come w/ those 'magic icons' (as they are called in Kurumin) for a few useful programs like Kopete, AMSN, CD-Record and even Wine, to download when system is running from the CD, like FireBird + Flash now :D
Of course I'd like most if those programs come direct from DSL CD HEHE >:-)
