ZeroconfForum: DSL Ideas and Suggestions Topic: Zeroconf started by: jconlon Posted by jconlon on May 31 2005,19:16
Are there any plans (thoughts, or musings) for a DSL integrated with Zeroconf (Link-Local, mDNS, and DNS-SD)? I think a functional destop that can boot from a business card CD, coupled with dynamic link and local service discovery would make the enterprise world take a great intrest in DSL. (Gamers would appreciate zeroconf as well.) Here is a link regarding KDE and Zeroconf: < http://dot.kde.org/1114696139/ > Posted by joedornan on June 03 2005,19:25
My $0.02CAD: Zeroconf support would help with small dumb-terminal like boxes, something DSL is particularly good for. In my case, I'm setting up a picture frame to auto-pull in photos from a server. Using zeroconf aware apps would be a boon to setup simplicity. Cheers, -joe |
