Has anyone tried Flonix?  It appears to be a modiified version of DSL with a multimedia emphasis (DVD, camera, scanner, audio mixer, CD burner software etc.) from France.
It's based on Knoppix with a functional & light view (~60Mo).

Flonix has 2 versions:
1. Flonix USB Edition can be installed on an USB flash drive / Compact Flash card (64Mo & more)

2. Flonix CD Edition is a live CD

Hi Hobie, Flonix looks very nice.  It would be nice if you gave Damn Small some credit on your website.

This is definitely not my website.  I found Flonix at < http://www.knoppix.net/docs/index.php/KnoppixCustomizations >

There have been discussions on the board about creating modified DSL distros and this is an example of what someone has put together.

Flonix recognizes the knoppix toram startup command and appears to be based on DSL 4.8 or above.  I don't know how locate the DSL version numer or read French if you look at the forums and archives.

Obviously I don't know how to check my spelling either, my apologies.

I also came across Flonix, yesterday.
right from the same link

I also noticed that neither in the english pages (very few indeed) of the website nor in the french pages (I can read french) there is a mention to damnsmalllinux.
and it is basically the same damnsmallthing.
I found it very *unfair*.
This is exactly what one should NOT do when remasters a work that someone else did.
Beyond the case of dsl, I think that it's great to take one's work, to give it a personal flavor o to get it better, and then to give it away on the net. this makes linux go ahead.
but it's very important to recognize the work done by the rest of the community. First of all the one of the people that created the .iso you started from.
In flonix, I mean, they didn't even change the desktop image!

The Flonix's web site seem to be updated and damnsmall, knoppix and debian are linked !
